@SmagBoy I'm glad you`re "coming around" eh? Not to the "right" but the center IMO.
But, no conservative I know, on this site or IRL or on FB, etc., will ever admit wrong in their party or in their candidates...
Both sides suffer from this, but I offer 2 explainations for the "right wing": #1: We don`t have to point out that "our guy" has done something wrong, the liberals pounce on the smallest "mistake"! Imagined? Exagerated? Complete fabrication? It`s SHOUTED from every rooftop! Why add to that chorus? #2: The MSM has swung SO FAR left since Nixon it`s unbelievable! The "right" is attacked from all sides, 24-7! They`ve developed "fortress mentality" which means you cannot open the door even a crack or else!
I have openly blamed Bush2 for some of his MANY mistakes (he made his fair share!) here.

@SmagBoy How dense are you? The charge of the Impeachment was "High Crimes and Misdemenors" High Crime = Felony Pergory Misdemenor = Cover-up using the Office of the PotUS's powers.
Where oh where is the sex? NO WHERE! At least you "noticed" that he actually was guilty: of pergury at least!
Note: having an affair, even a mistress? NOT ILLEGAL!
Why even investigate that deal at all? Because he was a Democrat. Sooo, Reagan was investigated by the EXACT SAME LAW because... Reagan was Democrat! Watergate... (different a little bit because the Law I refer to was passed because of Watergate, but the process was very similar) Nixon was Democrat!
Oh those bigoted Repubs who refuse to... wait, what?
Several people went to jail for the Iran-Contra thing. Laws WERE broken! They were tried and convicted, good! Pardoned later... meh.

auburnjunky, my apologies! You're absolutely correct, and I do concede that point. How about if I say that the fringes of both parties are that way? Or, maybe the fringes of both ideologies? You do *not* fall in that group, and I do apologize for being so general in my statement.
Too, I think it`s important that I make clear that, though I`m a social liberal, I`m a fiscal conservative. Even then, though, what I believe is okay to spend a bit more money on, and what I believe should be reined in is informed by my social leanings (e.g., I`m for cutting our defense budget in half--we`d still be the most powerful military in the world, and spending the "savings" on education, training, domestic infrastructure, and micro loan programs). So, as you can imagine, I`m not a fan of all liberal *or* conservative programs. But a lot of what we end up discussing here is social stuff, so, I always come off as an uber liberal. And I just wanted to clarify. FWIW.
