It can be okay, however since many internet users are not highly educated, it is often very unfeliable. Incorrect facts often last for days without being corrected. This could be a difference between an "A" and a "D" on a paper. I, foolishly, have used it for papers and later come to realize the facts were incorrect!

Just recently hit 500,000 full articles, not just stubs, in english. Compare that to the likes of encarta and brittanica's ~80,000. While you could bet money on the accuracy of articles in professional encyclopedias. You won`t find one that covers as much or updates as quickly.
