Yup. I've seen things like that before. Sometimes in Popular Science, they feature predictions from the past that aren`t nearly as possible now.

you can't blame them really.

based on the current technology they had at the time and the exponential development of technology at the time, it seemed like a logical conclusion.

the quotes actually ARE from science and technology articles during the 50's and 60`s.
go look them up. there`s hundreds of predictions like that from that era.
