@CrakrJak "It's as ridiculous as asking a cop whether or not beating a spouse is better or worse than beating a kid and demanding that they choose one or the other. In the eyes of the law it`s the same thing."
If that`s true why are there different classes of drugs? Why are some drugs legal (alcohol, caffeine)? You are assuming that laws are based on fact and in this case science when in fact that is not always the case specifically when it comes to things that people enjoy.

As badly as she handled answering that question, it was an unfair question to begin with. Before I continue, though; cards on the table. I don't smoke pot but I do believe in the use of medicinal pot. Having said that, that politician was; surprise, surprise, playing politics. There is no right way for her to answer that question. If she says that pot is not as addictive as other drugs, he`ll browbeat her on why they spend so much on the "war on drugs"; most of which is marijuana. As for whether or not pot is addictive; that depends on the individual. Some people have addictive personalities, some don`t. The biggest problem with pot is that it is an ILLEGAL gateway drug. Smokes and booze are the true gateway drugs but that`s another can of worms. People with addictive personalities will smoke more and more pot in an effort to get a better high before moving on to something stronger. This is what casual tokers(people without addictive personalities) don`t understand. 1000 char

Hey now, I'd like to mention that while the effects of addiction, overdose, bad cuts, or improper IV use are clearly bad, the effects of heroin/opiates themselves aren`t. Therefore, it`s not worse for your health, as with both drugs proper use results in little to no detrimental effects on one`s health. Anything else, such as unknown purity, are purely a result of illegality.
So while heroin is clearly more dangerous (really anything whatsoever is more dangerous than getting stoned), neither substance is itself actually bad for your health, so they`re equally as `bad`.
Of course I`m not advocating running out to shoot dope, but my point is some have no problem calling others out for one drug is bad without any knowledge on the subject, then turn around and do the same with other substances, even though they too have little knowledge of the subject and are simply forming opinions based on whatever tidbits and rumours they`ve heard over the years.

see now people are just arguing marijuana for the principal; they all know they were wrong; they are just too damn proud to give in and legalize it!
