I know it's not about real trees but after I read the title all I could think is that all trees are solar.

A green tree? Go figure. And what, pray tell, stores the solar energy that's so green? Capacitors? Batteries? Go green. Oh, and way to attach a car ad to a green movement... wtf is so green about an overpriced Toyota SUV?

I saw a very similar concept at Floriade 2012 (flower/environment show they host once a decade. They had two trees a bit like this, hooked up with a car port (parking space with a huge overhang covered in solar panels), with a mitsubishi volt plugged into it. Your very own recharging station where the recharging is free.

I like it. Very cool. I can see this light influencing the design of the surrounding buildings. I foresee some very cool office parks and college campuses in the near future.
