KittenCereal and thatjimguy: It's not always about being sexy. It`s about creating a costume and shaping yourself to be as close to a given character as possible - in many cases, `sexy` is part of that, but that`s primarily because the character is supposed to be an idealized human figure. It`s about craftsmanship and skill, the same as any other fanart.

@KittenCereal It's not society`s fault. Women compete this way. Being sexy means better choice of men from better looks to better educated to more money. Never going to change.

A lovely creature with pouty lips and DAMN DAT ASS
Although, I have to admit I get turned off by women who wear this kind of stuff. I could be totally 100 percent wrong a lot of the time but it just kind of screams, PAY ATTENTION TO ME AND GIVE ME APPROVAL BECAUSE I WORK HARD TO BE SOCIETY'S DEFINITION OF HOT WITH THESE HEELS AND WEARING THIS OBVIOUSLY OVER THE TOP `SEXY` OUTFIT IN PUBLIC`
Just sayin. It seems that way.
We all have different views of what we get turned on from, so I respect that obviously a lot of people find the nature of hot cosplay girls sexy, but I personally am way more turned on by a person that isn`t trying so hard to be hot...
Like, when a woman in the grocery store is wearing a conservative outfit but bends over to get an item and suddenly those business slacks hug every inch of her curves and maybe her panties are slightly upturned and therefor are exposed, but she isn`t aware of it.
