Any student that misses 18days of school and is still an honor student is probably smarter than the redneck judge sentencing her. In fact I think the judge had second thoughts.
It's such a shame that the US Justice system appears to be driven by the amount of public embarrassment its officials are subjected to. At least this idiot got forced to do a U-turn, even if it was too late to do any good to anyone.

@madest LOLNO It's high school mate. Being an `honors` student is a joke, especially when the teachers help you out. (Which they would have for this girl, I assure you) There`s not really any punishment for grade inflation in high school. It`s frowned upon by parents and things, but in the end it really doesn`t matter. The better question is, why weren`t her parents punished A LONG time ago? As far as I know, a parent deserting children under the age of 18 is illegal.

@casidhe Did you even read all of my posts? I don't agree with this law either, but the law IS the law. Our justice system is supposed to be `blind`. That`s why you`ll see statues or paintings of a woman with a blindfold over her face in many judicial buildings. If YOU don`t like the law, then do something about it. The judge just did his job.
