Well eddy, keep in mind that plenty of politically-clueless already think that the pres. pretty much is the entire government since he's the only politician they even know of, and don`t care enough to learn otherwise, so hey, it`s not like obama saying `You guys realize I can`t just instantly make and change laws at a whim, right?` won`t help anything.
As for his relationship with the media, unfortunately to be in politics he has to media whore. I`ve heard that politics have become like a sick reality show, and politicians have to play the game. It`s not about what`s good for the country. It`s about shutting little people up and making big players happy. That`s just how our embarassment of a system is.
Anyways, no, I don`t think obama is amazing, but when it comes to politicians `ok` is the best we can hope for. I appreciate your civil approach to the issue though. It`s refreshing compared to many obama detractors...

Wow! Play up the race card. Explain why the right doesn't like Polosi, Reed, Kerry, Clinton, and Clinton, Gore, Carter. It certainly isn`t their race. Quit being so superficial. Its politics. Plain and simple. And whole your at it explain how West, Cain, Rubio, Haley and Jindle do so well with your so called racist right wing.

"Don't you think he genuinely wants to do those things but can`t really right now? Don`t you think he is playing it safe to win over the undecideds and centrists so he can get a second term to push through the things he really wants? I feel like that is what is going on. It is what conservatives are scared to death of and what progressives are hoping for."
This is a possibility, and if this is the case, it just shows another flaw of our current political environment. Regardless, I still think I am still justified in not thinking he is a good president. Why couldn`t he have just did what he thought was good for the country in the first place?
