Wow, that is a nice piece of anarchist propaganda they got going there - good enough to fool the young and naive.
Taxes maintain vital infrastructure: education, roadways, sanitation, potable water, regulatory agencies that keep food safe, and so forth. I disagree with how a lot of our taxes and fees are spent (I think we focus too much on military, and our infrastructure is too focused on private vehicle use), but that does not mean I am blind to all the good our government does.
One interesting aspect to this type of rhetoric is how they are opponents of regulation - until someone transgresses against them. Fake medicine leads to the death of a child? Someone comes into your garden and takes all the food you've been growing? Someone assaults you? Your car suddenly randomly accelerates? A company starts logging every little detail about you online? Then they ask "why didn`t the government do anything?" - they should answer "because you said to n

The pledge of allegiance was originally a socialist creation, not unlike the pledge Germans made to Adolf Hitler. But it backfired on them, instead of 'brainwashing` people into blind allegiance to our government it turned into patriotism and pride for our flag.
The pledge is to our flag and to our republic, not it`s leaders.
