I always thought nationalism just meant having pride and an interest in the well being of one's country. I tried looking it up, but the definition kind of makes no sense as it lists both just having `national spirit or aspirations` as being nationalism, but it also lists `exaggerated, over-passionate or fanatical devotion to one`s own country` as a definition.

So now I`m confused as to whether being a nationalist just means someone has a healthy level of love/loyalty for their country, or whether being a nationalist means someone is a crazy fanatic who only cares about their country and says to hell with any other.
