Penguin has some interesting points. Obviously theres a difference between harmless behaviour like being gay or getting turned on by shoes, and harmful behaviour like abusing children or animals, but it does seem a bit bizarre to bait people who are clearly not right in the head for entertainment value.

It's always seemed contradictory to look at someone who`s gay or has a fetish and say `well, you can`t help what you`re attracted to. It`s not their fault.` then right after say something like, idk, `If you`re going to be a predator to children, you deserve to be humiliated like this.` Pedophiles are one of the few groups that are still socially acceptable to hate.
Of course I`m not suggesting permitting the behavior, but there`s striving to actually understand something and attempting to rationally and constructively discuss possible solutions, and then there`s just straight up hating ppl who are different. Humiliating them on TV so some ppl can boost their pitiful egos by convincing themselves they`re better isn`t helpful.
For all we know this could be a complex mental disorder and in a few years we will have cured it, just as with a number of other behaviors in the past...but hey, that would mean one less group to dump on, and some desperately need others to look d
