@PsychGeek: "and if you're dumb enough to put lettuce into a cart without it being in a bag, then you are just asking for trouble" Germs can transfer from any bag or container or surface you touch- to your hands. This is why hand washing and avoiding touching your mouth, nose, eyes is important. Produce carries added risks with handling, poking from its bag, being eaten raw. This is general knowledge. How did we get down here?
"chances are your home has more germs in it than a WalMart shopping cart. you can`t sterilize yourself or your kids, and frankly if you try to do that, you`re doing way more harm than good. " Straw man argument. I agree with the statement in and of itself, but this hasn`t a thing to do with my position.
I`m not against debates but there are more focused ways to go about it. I`m not interested in wasting any more time in a dialogue in which I have to navigate through a digressive gauntlet of conclusion-jumping and
"for the love of god, chill out." I guess you thought I was upset or obsessing? A germaphobe? Text can have that effect, I guess. Nah, just calmly expressing my opinion. Very chill.
"Do you think public restrooms have awesome doctor-approved infection control procedures?" Sure don't.
"do you think poo is the worst thing to have seen that shopping cart?" Worst as in how? As in the ability to make people sick? Feces would be definitely be "up there" in my opinion.
"do you honestly think people care?" Who cares? Yes, I do. People know germs are everywhere but I don`t think they wanna put their lettuce down in a fresh smear of poop or have their hands or their kids` hands come in contact with it.
