When my now-26 year old was 2, he could undo the carseat buckles, and did so. On the highway. In front of a Highway Patrol officer. And then, after the officer had shown us how to "properly" restrain him in the seat (assuming we'd failed to use the carseat buckles properly), the lil stinker again pulled a Houdini...right in front of him. Needless to say, the officer noted on the bottom of the ticket that he observed our son removing himself from the car seat, and the Judge later threw out the ticket, because by that point, we`d purchased a different model with more difficult buckles.

apparently the toddler got out of its car seat and climbed to the door and opened it. which is legit. my 5 year old can buckle himself up and undo the buckles easily and has been able to for a couple years now.
