I love Carlin, but he was funnier as stoner hippie than old angry hippie. He was still damn funny tho. "The kids'll love it!" Hee hee. Indeed I did.

We aren't `owned`, in fact we are fought over, competed for, catered too (in most cases). The consumer has the power. The mere mention of a boycott these days sways board rooms into action.
Indeed Carlin himself may indeed have felt that he was owned, talent agents pretty much do `own` their talent, but that does not mean the rest of us are.
If you see yourself as `exploited` then you always will be. See yourself as empowered and nothing can stop you.
