Whoever made this map and correlation is ghey, I am originally from Wilmington, N.C. all of the places with the highest degree percentages are where the universities are LOCATED also meaning younger urban hubs that are not under the influence of the old Republican Jessie Helms belief system. The state is getting more progressive as time passes; and the bible belt drifts even further south with all the old bible thumpers dying off, whom keep ignorant laws on the books...

If you followed this at all, it's not about the definition of marriage, they already had that one pass their political machine. This one affects other couples too... Not just gay couples. They already have a law on the books that says marriage is between a man and a woman.

@angillon. It is possible this is less about the definition of homosexuality, and more about the definition of marriage, for many on all sides of this issue.
Regarding higher education, I have met people educated way beyond their intelligence, and they were actually dumber than a fence post. I have met people with little formal education, but nevertheless highly intelligent, informed, and very astute in understanding a wide range of issues. Things may not actually be as simple and straightforward as this set of maps seems to imply....
