@jacos27. Yeah you're right, the first one is to do with your relative velocity with regard to the earth, thats why we appear to be staionary. The second one doesn`t take into account that the world isn`t hollow like a balloon and the third one is eughhh....... I give up, I`m going to live in a cave and hope I never meet the person who made this crap.

Your #1 reasoning is wrong. If you're flying east, the earth is rotating AWAY from you, so using your reasoning it would take longer as you`d be trying to catch up. The actual difference in time has to do with the winds in the upper altitudes. (which IS caused by the rotation of the earth).
If you want a much more valid demonstration, why does NASA launch to the East? (so they get a boost from the direction the earth is rotating...to launch to the west would require you to OVERCOME the speed of the spin just to become relative to the center of the earth, THEN obtain orbit velocity from that point).
#2: The force that makes us stay on the ground is GRAVITY. This is not the same the same as centrepital force.

I think the flat earth church was real up till the 1940's. This current group was "founded in 1956 by Samuel Shenton, a fellow at the Royal Astronomic Society and the Royal Geographic Society." I`m pretty sure it`s a hoax, just like Nessie and crop circles. The Brits love to sell us B.S.
