I actually do say "Sorry" when asking someone to move. >_< Followed by a "Thanks." I usually just say it at the same time, while I'm passing by them.

if this is in reference to when someone is in your way/almost bump into someone, then the British way would be "sorry". I lived in the states for 5 years and the phrase "excuse me" is just completely rude, it suggests that its my fault
