@imnakdjumpme In fact, here is a quote from a descendant of a black confederate soldier who took place in a march to remember the black confederates who fought in the battle:
"I am marching for freedom. The battle flag stands for freedom and states' rights. The U.S. flag is the flag of slavery. It flew over 100 years of slavery, and Native Americans were annihilated under that flag."

"continue to use the symbol to promote racist ideas" I live very deep in the south, and I have yet to see this. I know it does happen every now and then, but most people don't do this, and I have never experienced it. I HAVE seen southern black individuals wear clothing with the confederate flag though, but I guess they`re using it to promote racism, eh?
