I run two screens 10-20 tabs on Chrome, 3 or 4 programs, music or a movie, and a 3d game on average. I restart my PC maybe once a week if not every other. I very, very rarely see any errors or crashes. Just picked up a new PC with the 3820 i7 and an X79 chipset board and two 680GTXs. Now the only warning I get is how bored it is with my pathetic workload. Sorry to brag btw, if it came across that way, I'm very excited with it. My main point is that Windows 7, properly installed and maintained runs very, very well. Most peoples issues stem from driver conflicts (solvable ones usually by updating to the newest or by installing correctly), not knowing how to shut off features (like UAC), or because they themselves mucked something up (as I said drivers and very often corrupted registry). Add onto this very convincing web ploys that sucker in older people and kids into thinking there is something wrong with the PC etc. to install spyware, adware, and virii.
