So that's how it happened, the Dutch suck at driving, pay a huge amount for gasoline, and couldn`t pay their bills.
That`s not progress, that`s slipping back into 2nd world status.
Long term, I disagree. When oil gets too expensive within the next 20 years, the Dutch will be fine given there`s bike paths everywhere, and the tram and train systems have to be seen to be believed. The US, however, won`t be fine. That`s why Obama`s trying to kickstart long distance high speed electrified rail projects. Southwest can`t last forever you know.

"The Netherlands has the highest amount of cyclists in the world"? I don't think so chum, I think China has far more.

"Buiadh: Why would I want to see things from a eurocentric liberal socialist viewpoint, that hates America and is jealous of our liberties, economic power and prosperity ?
That sounds like a miserable viewpoint to have."
CrakrJak, sometimes I doubt my view of many humans as utterly biased and incapable of impartial thought. You always remove those doubts.
