With the divorce rate at 50% you'd think the religious/conservative crowd would be in a to-do about it. After all, if divorce doesn`t ruin the sanctity of marriage I don`t see how my relationship can. Perhaps they should rally to have divorce made illegal. A law that would restrict their choices instead of one restricting mine. Yes, I think that`d be much more appropriate use of their time instead of running around worrying about what sort of wabbly-bits the betrothed have, or doing a head count of brides & grooms.
Just my thoughts on the subject. But I`m sure the people who are allowed to make decisions for me about my like know better than I do what the right thing is.

See, that's where you lost me.
Perhaps oddly, I agree with them. I agree that there are different kinds of marriage, since "marriage" currently incorporates three separate things (political, personal and religious, basically). So if they want to have a specific religious phrase to describe religious marriages within their religion, that`s fine by me.
I don`t think it`s reasonable to expect them to regard marriages not blessed by their religion as being holy in their religion. They acknowledge them as marriages, just not holy to them. Which is fair.

I find it funny that the last line is about not making political statements in what looks to be a political statement. Just saying.
