People seem to want to use situations where life and death hangs in the balance to conduct social experiments.


If that really is an issue then we can ban "co-ed" per se combat units.

I've been in several units, with and without females, and they are markedly different worlds. of course,some female soldiers are badasses, but it changes the social dynamic. In the current situation of asymmetrical warfare we`re in, there`s not exactly a "front" line. So it`s not a good example of the types of scenarios we want to use to establish trends for a future military which may have to face more traditional warfare. In our current fight it is necessary to have female soldiers everywhere we have a presence, in order to deal with female civilians appropriately and respectfully. However, in major force on force battle it`s not beneficial to interject another layer of psycology and sociology into an already potentially tenuous siuation in attempting to accomplish a seriously difficult mission.
