I agree with Spocom, I studied quantum mechanics a couple years ago, and based on what I learned, I'd rather not think of it `correctly`.

The distance between two events in spacetime is sqrt(x^2 + y^2 + z^2 - ct^2). It's simple Pythagorean geometry (except for that pesky little -ct^2 term).

This is only true if you think of distance as how difficult it is to get from one point to another, rather than a measurement of the space between those two points like most of us think of it. This is false in my opinion, because distance is not a measurement of difficulty.
