CrakrJak strikes again... *facepalm.
the fact this is even being talked about during a presidential campaign only speaks to how out of touch people like the newt are with society... and to how easily influenced weak minds like CrakrJak's are.

Also, we'll be transporting foreign astronauts to the moon, as well, thus no treaty will be broken.
Well if it`s to become the "51st state" then yes, treaty will be broken.
Water is recycled on the international space station, water (ice) does exist on the moon, we`ve already built and tested a moon rover, we`ve built sections of the space station that, with modifications, could be used on the moon, and we have many astronauts in training and are looking for more.
How exactly would they get to this ice? Is there an abundance of it on the surface? Yes, they recycle water, but you can only recycle so much, it`s not infinite. Using a moon rover is hardly proof that a moon base could be sustained. I`m not saying it`s technologically impossible, I`m saying that its ridiculous cost is the biggest impetus, especially for a country with a shaky economy and no current space program.
