CrakrJak, what part of "contract" don't you understand? Contracts have stipulations. One of the new stipulations the NYC government voted on was for any organization with a city contract to have non-discriminatory policies.
So, the SA had two options--agree to the new contract terms, or lose the contract and associated funding. Which they are still in danger of losing, mind you--it`s up to every mayor whether they enforce that city ordinance or not according to the courts. The SA will have no redress when a less bigoted mayor takes office.

Gerry: The SA is acting as a church providing charitable services, where the money comes from to do so is irrelevant because they are a NPO, therefore the government trying to tell the SA that they follow EEO guidelines is illegal, for all the reasons I've already stated below.
