Loxen, I'm pretty sure xians realize that a pine tree has little to do with the birth of a little Jewish baby 2,000 yrs ago. I`m also pretty sure they know that the Solstice occurs now, that Ancient Rome had Mithras` birthday on the 25th and that mistletoe also isn`t Jewish or even middle eastern for that matter in origin.
And they don`t care. Heck *I* don`t care. Both xians and Neo Pagans realize the sacred syncretism of the season. And they are both totally OK with it.

I like that he addresses this. I know he's joking, but I`d be all for it. Christians have camped on the pagan holiday too long, claiming to "own" it. They don`t. They really don`t. Its time to stand up and take back Christmas! Lets bring it back in line with its Secular (for everyone) meaning and acknowledge it as an ancient cultural celebration rooted in paganism, not Christianity and part of everyone`s heritage. I like that Stewart says lets take it back to its pre 1667 borders. Christians really did ban Christmas in the 1600`s. They caused massive riots by forcefully entering homes and destroying peoples feasts. It was a WTF Christian moment. You can`t attempt to ban a pagan holiday and then flip around and claim you always owned a date and it is super-holy now.

He's a partisan idiot, and not worth watching. He makes fun of people acting like idiots, on either side of the party lines. Not his fault if Republicans supply him with more ammunition.
