"The system is set up so greatness can't come from the 99%. That`s part of the problem."
The only way this statement could possibly true is if nobody who ever earned less than $300k/yr in their lives has ever gone on to do anything great. Now that your statement is properly framed, do you still agree with it?
Ignorance 101. You need to realize that all of the world's economies are linked. Ours is especially linked to yours because of our proximity and vast amounts of trade. The recession hit here too, and MANY Canadians have lost jobs, had to relocate, etc. because of Wall Street`s brilliant mortgage-backed securities idea, coupled with uninformed and easily influenced average citizens being told by the US gov`t to tap home equity. We are suffering higher unemployment too, and many find it difficult to attain new jobs. There is a world outside of America, maybe you`ve heard of it.

@ccalhoun: YOur ignorance of all things Canadian is second only to @madest. Where do y'all think most of your imported OIL comes from? Who was your #1 trade partner until China surpassed us very recently? Mostly of trees... and we still live in igloos too. Talking To Americans! Even Obama likes Canadians!

5cats; you live in Canada. Did you just recently move or did Canada suddenly become a part of America? Last I knew, Canada was a monarch. You have different political leaders, different currency, an entirely different economy, consisting mostly of trees. Pigsnout, idiot. I have a job. I hate my job. I'm holding on to my job for dear life. There`s this thing called unemployment, and its high because jobs don`t exist, not because people don`t want to work. I would guess the majority of those unemployed fall under the category of being let go to downsize, not those who never had a job to begin with. Have you even seen Office Space? I work in a hotel. We have had many consulting agencies stay here, and basically strip bare the management staff of several local companies. Cant tell you how many I`ve seen in tears wanting me to make copies of their resume because they were simply "let go" without warning, and are now jobless. So go shuffle some cards and feel fortunate.
