You named several companies. So what? Any new technology is going to have growing pains. You know we can't drill our way into independence. If not now, when should we stop drilling and concentrate our resources on the new?
I`ll tell you when. Never! There is never a good time that republicans look for change. In fact it`s what "conservative" means. We "liberals" are all about change. Look it up. You`ll see. You`re not changing my mind. Your party will never take ANWR away from the citizens of America. Nor will you have your stupid KeystoneXL pipeline.

PS: There has never been corruption anywhere near the scale of the Iraq war. Don`t make me prove it. Solyndra is nothing and what you know about it is fed to you from conservatives. You know what that means.

madest: I've already named several of the 119 `green energy` companies that have went bankrupt in this country in the past ten years. That record of failure and political idiots, like yourself, throwing money at them hand over fist, is the real waste.

Solyndra is Obama`s watergate, he`s already refused a congressional subpoena of his files on Solyndra.

Yours is the way of corruption, pipe dreams, and massive fraud/waste.

No our "hope" is not in drilling. It's in green energy. As you said it`s years away from becoming viable. To a liberal, that means start now. To a conservative it means never get started, waste resources on old, pollution producing oil and on top of that feed these fortune 500 companies subsidies. Yours is the way of the dinosaur. Mine is the way of the future.

madest: Right now drilling and mining is our only hope, wasting hundreds of billions on 'Green Energy` pipe dreams is only making the situation worse. But I`m guessing you still believe failed companies like Solyndra, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, Raser, Beacon Power, and many many others that have failed, are still worth investing billions of dollars of tax dollars in (So long as democrats like Obama still keep getting their campaign contribution kickbacks).
