Marijuana has no over dose rate.
You can't over dose on marijuana.
You can over dose on alcohol.
Alcohol < Marijuana.
Marijuana is also an amazing aphrodisiac

I don't know why this is on here. Of course people are going to smoke pot... I don`t get the point this post is making.

I would gladly accept alcohol prohibition if they would legalize marijuana. At least you can defend marijuana on a health basis. Alcohol does none of this.

First of all some of you are some damn ignorant! (AngryAsian) Thank you Touchet for actually knowing the facts. There has never been a death that marijuana was contributed to. There are also studies that show marijuana use will DECREASE your risk of Alzheimer's and dementia related diseases. The penalties for possession of weed are absolutely ridiculous, a good portion of the prison population that our taxes are paying for are for inmates who have marijuana convictions. Yet murderers and severe drug users get out much sooner than them. There are no studies that show marijuana is addictive, studies actually show the opposite. Famous or not the US population is going to smoke. If the government were smart they would legalize it everywhere so they could actually make money on it, instead of losing money on jailing petty criminals. Marijuana is one the safest drugs out there, no long term side effects and no health risks. Funny thing...I don`t even smoke!

@ Angry Asian: "The jail time for getting caught with marijuana isnt long."

You've obviously never heard of the Rockefeller Drug Laws. Under those, possession of TWO OUNCES of marijuana could lead to a 25 to life prison sentence.

Read and learn something before you run your mouth again.

People seem to forget marijuana is a valuable commodity. Hemp, which doesn't contain THC like other marijuana plants, is a very strong fiber, it can grow in many climates, and is cheap to reproduce. It`s not just for smoking or for potheads. It`s a good idea for the economy. And if you take the time to do research, you will learn that marijuana when smoked (safer when ingested as a food item- no carcinogens) is much less dangerous than alcohol. That`s just a fact.
