Angilon: They've Gone To Plaid

I`d forgotten about the plaid thing in Spaceballs. Nice follow-on reference from "ludicrous speed".

I think I`ll rent that film and watch it again. I only remember snippets, like when the Imperial forces arrested the stunt doubles. Hilariously ridiculous film.

And about nudging the asteroid, it is A LOT harder and more technologically advanced than you sa

Only because our spacefaring technology is in its infancy. The basic principles are very straightforward.

Whether it could be implemented would depend on how much warning we had. Which is why various agencies are tracking as many larger NEOs as possible - they're after predicting impact chances 100 years in advance. Not that anyone is expecting any major impact within the next few millenia, but it`s worth having as much warning as possible.

With 100 years warning, no problem.
