We always fail to learn from history. The last 30 years have seen those, for whom no amount of power and money will ever be enough, game the system to there advantage. While doing so, they've managed to convince a significant number of not very bright people to vote against their own interests - to be actually proud of the fact that they`re getting screwed. So every couple of hundred years it`s necessary to "storm the Bastille" to set thing right - at least until the greed and corruption build up to a tipping point again.

@Billito:
1) I didn't vote for Obama, I think he is a great speaker but lacks substance.

2)We might not directly vote on their pay raises, but we do and can vote them out of office the next time around, it`s what a Republic is.

The "we are 99%" slogan is the most infuriating slogan of all time. What does it imply? Does it imply that the 99% somehow has more rights than the 1%? Does it mean that the 99% has the right to lynch the 1% because they're the majority? Does the fact that they`re the majority give them any special privileges over the minority?
