Behind The Scenes Of The Prius Plural Commercial. It was creepy, and it was people. Watch the video 4 links down before you watch this one--this clip will pay off after.

Richanddead...that's my thoughts exactly. That, and the fact that the carbon footprint is much larger than a regular car. Why? Because the materials from the batteries are mined from a strip mine in Northern Ontario (which causes tonnes of pollution on it`s own), then shipped via train, then freighter to China, where it`s processed (using very unclean energy), then shipped to Japan where it`s developed into batteries, then shipped back to China to be made into a car, then shipped back to North America, then shipped across country to the dealers. It`s like the whole push on CFLs. Why are compact flourescent lights better? The mercury is mined in strip mines, shipped to China for processing and manufacturing, packaged in bulky plastic packaging, then shipped back to North America for sale. Then, 90% of CFLs land up in landfills rather than being recycled.

Please don't jump down my throat, I`m not trolling. But why are hybrid/electric cars seen as more eco-friendly? They run on electricity/gas combination correct, but it is only clean if you receive electricity from a solar or hydroelectric power plant. Most of the world including the US generates the vast majority of their power from coal. And from what I know coal is dirtier than oil from an environmental standpoint, plus it causes far more deforesting. So how is it eco- friendly? Your just transporting even worse toxins to the power plant rather than the car and you help flatten Pennsylvania. Plus it`s built out of less metal making them more deadly in accidents. I`m just wondering, not trolling.

I have to laugh at companies and ad agencies that think a "making of..." video for a commercial will generate more buzz. The commercial has to be interesting before anyone will care how they made it., and even then, few will care.
It just makes them look smug. Oh, wait. This is for Prius. Of course they're smug.
