tedgp, with our new credit card processing company, any debit sales over $45 we save money if we run it as debit and a PIN is used. Before we signed we did run everything as credit since fees are nuts and it was just easier.

We only sign when we run it as credit. Regardless, nobody ever sees the signature, so many people like to have fun with it and doodle random poo.

Yea youre wrong. Business's make people sign regardless of credit or debit status. FOr the business, it`s simply cheaper than to go for the much more secure route of chip and pin.

When I was working retail, a customer had "SEE ID" written in the area right under "NOT VALID WITHOUT SIGNATURE". I asked to see their ID, then told them we could not accept the card because the signatures did not match. Asked to see my manager, who backed me up.
Granted, we have both been accused of being arseholes - not that we disagreed with the statement, mind you. One of the prerogatives of owning one's own business.
