The I-A-B Email of the Day, #6: It's Back I bet you thought you'd never see this feature here again, eh? What can I say, the final days of summer took a lot out of me and I'm just now catching up with everything--stuff too mundane to mention, but rest assured, all I-A-B related. So on with the email I'm throwing in two today. --Fancy Dear Fancy, OMG--what have you done? I can't maneuver your site at all! I know you have to have advertising but HOLY LORD you have masses. In every corner on every page and it blinks, flashes moves and it's a major distraction. I know, I know--if I dont like it then leave, so actually I'm just here to say Goodbye. The ads at the bottom of the page for Twitter, Stumble etc... They really are in the wrong place and just piss me off. I will move along now. Good luck with fitting in some actual links. --Dawn, via email (name and address withheld) Dawn, You said it--the ads suck--suck like hell. And it-s not only the ads, but other things, but I-m not even going to get into that right now. That said, yeah, the ads blow and I discuss how I can get a few of the more obnoxious ones off every week with management. But what it all comes down to is money--is I-A-B making money? If it is, that-s good because I-A-B is literally earning its keep and we can exist. If it doesnt make money (and it always has, but I-m just saying, if it doesn-t) then management would have to consider keeping dead weight around. So yeah, I understand, the Meeboo jacks up the site pretty bad (shh, it has a hide function) and a couple of the Google Adsense ads blink and talk (let me know when that happens, they're not supposed to do that per agreement), but making I-A-B is my full-time job--10 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hope you come back--it's not all that crappy--I've seen worse. + Fancy, I have been a visitor for a couple years now and have always appreciated the outlandish and "un-newsworthy" segments and articles you share. Your articles recently have begun to truly expose the unjustness and exploitation of power and authority lately. YouTube is good, but you guys hone in on the important and relevant topics. Yeah, the Mods and I try to cultivate an even balance between dick-and-ball content, newsy current events and ridiculous pop culture. The newsy stuff is always my favorite, but I love poking fun and celebutards--especially when it gets readers pissed. "Why is I-A-B posting a photo of that skank or a whore Linsday Lohan?" you might see in the forums... If there happens to be an absurd photo of Lohan's orange face, Kardashian's implanted ass or whoever the tart of the week is, its because were just pointing out how retarded they are. We're certainly not putting them up on pedestals. All were trying to do here is highlight the good stuff and mock the bad stuff. Highlighting the good, mocking the bad, Fancy Anyone have a question for I-A-B, Fancy, the Mods, or life in general, just whip up a letter and send it to Fancy right here.
