It`s one of the saddest wars in history, but helped Canada NOT become part of the USA, so that`s good!

What? I was under the impression that the War of 1812 was a stalemate between America and Great Britain and if anyone lost, it was the Indians.

Native Americans largely sided with the British, and they were screwed over pretty heavily when the war was over.

Ultimately, it ushered in an era of peace between the US and Britain, and opened the Western US to expansion.
