Cameraman Is Arrested By New York Police. Why you might ask? Because he was filming them on public property which is 100% legal in NY. Our rights are slipping...

This is how your grandchildren are going to sit in class (and not pay attention in school and flunk out) in the future.

@ Mongulman - If cops didn't arrest people for doing lawful things, then these videos would stop attracting attention. I will admit, I am biased. I think every instance the public deals with the police should be video tapped. This is to protect both the police and the people.

Mogulman, I can understand your point of view, but these videos keep police in check (well let's hope so anyhow).
Pertaining to your second paragraph, in my humble opinion, to compare a police officer to teachers, builders etc is a stretch. If a teacher has a bad day and takes it out on you you’re able to defend yourself verbally or physically. If a police officer takes it out on you, you can`t exactly do the same, unless you want to be arrested, tazed, beaten or worst. Choosing to become a police officer comes with a different set of rules. I have nothing but respect for the police, but if they abuse the power that they are entrusted (<-- important word here) with, then they should be made example of. Videos of these disgraceful acts can serve as a warning not to abuse their power.
You are right though, we should consider that for the most part police do make our lives better, and not let the actions of a few sully the name of the rest.

"You shouldn't need to carry around copies of the law in order to tell police what they can and cannot do; they should already know what they can and cannot do."
They know they can arrest you on bogus charges and drop them later.
