Good bye to the world's most dangerous delivery vehicle.

Low earth orbit: the final frontier. These were the voyages of the space shuttle. Its thirty-year mission: to explore the easiest to reach part of its home planet`s orbit, to launch defective satellites and return repeatedly to fix them, to boldly go where many men, apes and canines have gone before.

hi2pi-"after the moon landings there was a 9 year break before the first shuttle."

How soon we forget Pioneer 10 (72), Skylab (73), Apollo-Soyuz (75), Viking I (75), Voyager 2 (77), to name a few.

My father worked on Apollo 11 & 12. I remember well the Earth rumbling when they tested the rocket engines in Huntsville, AL.

I'm glad he passed before he could see this happening today.

And this, people, is what a state gets when it votes for McCain rather than The One.

The Astronaut is dead.
Long Live the Cosmonaut.

OMG people don't panic. after the moon landings there was a 9 year break before the first shuttle. you`re not DONE, you`re just in transition. not a sad day, but a day to start dreaming again. new frontiers await.

If Americans cannot see the direction this country is going, we are all blind. Well America had a good 235 year run and about 50-55 year as a superpower.
