Upon checking the dictionary, I have learned what a haboob is.
haboob noun a violent and oppressive wind blowing in summer, esp. in Sudan, bringing sand from the desert. ORIGIN late 19th cent.: from Arabic habūb ‘blowing furiously.’

it started just outside tucson, and blew through phoenix into the outlying deserts in about 4 hours, and was 50 miles wide. massive. crunchy air. we get these all summer almost every year.

The dust still isnt cleaned up completely...the fine layer is just now beginning to kinda wash away...I really agree Victory7 i hope it marks as well! Cant wait for the rain..cant stand this humidity and heat.Anyone who doesnt live here has no idea of heat and humidity..tell me its a dry heat, my heinie...Haboobs are not fun at all...It was still evening by the time it hit my house and it was pitch black in about a full minute. And as bad as a white out only it was brown.
