@Kalon- It was the German soldiers that were using methamphetamine, under the trade name (I sh*t you not) Pervitin. US soldiers were on Benzedrine, which is still an amphetamine, but it isn't methamphetamine.

Even if US soldiers WERE on meth, how would they "bring the recipe back to the US?" It`s not like soldiers make their own drugs. Your story is NOT how speed came into the US. Various amphetamines have been prescribed over the years, including methamphetamine, starting in around the 30`s or 40`s, as pep-pills, bronchodilators, and diet pills. Amphetamines are still being prescribed, only they`re most commonly being given to kids with ADHD.
