I live in Yosemite National Park, same as Dean Potter. He does this kind of stuff *a lot*. There are no tricks, no magic wires, nothing up his sleeve. While he's arguably the best at what he does, he is still just a plain `ol climber/park bum who spends his days doing basically what you see in the video. He frequently uses parachutes, sometimes even uses this "bat suit" that allows him to glide across the valley to the floor below. One of his feats that really impresses the kids here was his climb of El Capitan, Half Dome, and some other equally massive bit in *one day*. Most people take several days to do El Cap alone. The guy is a friggin` rock star around here, if he goes to buy a pizza over in Curry Village, the kids inside start wiggin` out "YEAH!!! I`m makin DEAN POTTER`S FRIGGIN` PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Just watched both of them. Wow - very stressful during the original, good song choice for its replacement (and a vaster sense of thrill). Amazing.

"The subtitle is wrong..." -Sorry, fixed! I just used the description from the youtube vid.
"The video you've used is blocked in some countries, including mine. Which is a bit amusing for a video posted in my name. For all I know, it`s a video of ufos and cats :)" -Gah! I hate that! Bloody copyright bollocks. Unfortunately there`s no way to know from one location (I`m in Canada) whether it`s blocked in other countries - I had a good dig for a version that allows embedding and this was the only one I could find. And your hunch was correct, the Channel 4 link you posted on the same thread only works in the UK.
For those who can`t see it here, you should be able to watch Ang`s original post on youtube:
