@AngryYouth- I WILL cite my city public transit as an efficient system of transportation because it is not horribly inefficient. I use my bike in combination with buses & trains to get everywhere. I haven't owned a car for more than 6 years, and I won`t need to as long as I stay where I am. Would it be faster to get some places if I had one? Yeah, probably. But for a car owner to get the amount of exercise I do, they`d need to spend 4 or 5 days per week exercising at least an hour per day. In total, I spend less combined time commuting and exercising than I would if I used a car to get around and took extra time to stay in shape.
@Batmanners, who said- "it`s very easy to find a gas station and use their air pump if your tire needs air" That doesn`t work if your inner tubes have presta valves.

@noxert323- Are you talking about your break/derailleur cables? Because those stretch very gradually. If the change is sudden- like over the course of a single ride- they're probably slipping, and the screws that hold them in place need to be tighter.
