I don't really understand what these people want. Is the memory of their loved ones not enough, who cares what happens to the body, I don`t care if people piss and poo all over my face when I`m dead. Who cares what happens to the site? Who cares if a museum is placed there. Holy drat people.
Do you have to be physically close to the remains of your loved ones to be capable of feeling something for them? WTF

people die everyday, many of the people that died in the 9/11 were heroes who selflessly risked their lives to save people who probably weren't worth the time spent to save them, much less their lives. the rest were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, no one erects a memorial for someone who chokes on an olive, or gets hit by a bus, so why is this different?

I pontificate that the Imam is more of a ceremonial figure rather than an official one. An Imam by the in Islam can be considered for instance the leader of a community.
