You're right - blood vessel dilation/constriction is muscular. I was missing that entirely and thinking of skeletal muscles.
But there`s still the deal-breaking issue of not having any blood moving.
If you`re just going to pump some other fluid in there, it`s not really the same thing. Increase the pressure a bit and it`ll stretch a bit more. I suppose you could use some sort of pressure sensor and a standard pressure for comparison purposes.

angilion, there are muscles in the penis. those muscles that dilate/contract blood vessels letting blood in or out of penis. its these muscles that help fill the penis with blood that can be used to fill the penis with some other liquid with blood properties. but, i dont know, these are all just suggestions for what they may do.

@Trypno: Fossils can be carbon dated to determine approximately the time period in which the organism died. Though, the fact that I have to even say this leads me to believe that you're some kind of fundamentalist who will go on to dispute carbon dating.
