I think it's the other way around, you eat crap when you get depressed. I`ve been eating healthy and exercising for the first time in my life for a year now. I lost 60 pounds but I`m certainly not any happier, I just look better.

Ahh, ye old vicious circle of feeling bad and eating bad fast food to feel good but alas feeling fat and bad instead leading to more bad fast food and so on untill the only thing you (still) feel bad about is your fat and starting to work out/eat less fast food
