I agree. They say our universe will end once it has expanded to a size larger than its capable mass. They call it "The Big Rip". Who's to say that didn`t happen with a much much smaller universe resulting in our "Big Bang"?

@ auburnjunky I've always wondered what their response would be when you tell them that these light waves took 10 millions years to reach us, and show them the simple math to prove how far the planet is and how fast light travels. I always feel like its such a simple disproving of the 6000 year thing.
Also in recent development, They think that the what preceded the universe was actually another universe. Eventually our universe will stop expanding(its actually decelerating in its increase by some estimates) and will slowly cave back into itself creating essentially big bang conditions. I wish I had the book near me for names and references for this. but It all came from the book "The Science of Doctor Who".
