In terms of the hulc malfunctioning all you would need to do is have the payload ride the HULC frame and you should be fine in most situations. This is of course under the assumption that the joints don't just collapse

Heh, can you imagine if that HULC malfunctions while you're using it, and dumps all 200lbs on your frame without warning?

I can. And it looks an awful lot like a telescoping spine.
