@66stang I don't really agree with there being no real money in it for the government. If you explore the tax revenues generated by tobacco and alcohol, a government regulated MJ would be killer for the tax coffers. Combine that with lower cost for DEA, FBI, and policing, not to mention court costs and jail overcrowding. Unless terribly over-taxed and priced, there would be little reason for a black market trade in MJ. This would have to be continent wide Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico to kill smuggling from legal to illegal countries, but still.
Oh wait... Lower budgets for FBI, Police, courts, lawyers, lobbyists, prisons, not to mention lack of materials for campaign promises... Yeah, I can see why it`s still illegal.
