This reminded me of something similar they presented at the gamescom this year..It still looked like rockband, but the guy and girl presenting it, were using real instruments..they claimed, you could learn how to play the guitar and piano with it, and the guitar had actual strings, which is pretty cool, but of course, it'll cost a fortune, so I think I`ll just stick to my normal guitar

Yeah.. my guitar teacher told me it was really hard for him to play Rock Band and things similar because of the simplified guitar and I guess it was so stupidly simple the normal way he would play a guitar threw him off.. Heard that from other guys at the shop, too, which is part of the reason I have never played it. Kinda worried if I get too used to that sort of simple 'guitar`, it`ll mess me up when I normally play a real one.
And yes, it is pretty much what we see in our heads when we play.

The guitar one wouldn't work very well, as you`d need a way to indicate which string to press as well as which fret. But I could certainly see someone using a Rock Band-like implementation to teach people piano or drums.

I'm a drummer. I love rock band but would hardly call is practice. It`s fun though. Been drumming for years before rock band even came out. Learned it in school, took lessons. All that jive. Don`t think a game could ever replace a teacher but who knows?
