I'm digging all the disgusted, "If it were a cow...!" comments. There`s a few key facts you guys seem to be glossing over before hitting fingers to keyboard:
Livestock (cows, pigs, chickens, etc.) are not given to the care of people to be loved and cared for. They are to be raised only until they`re fit for packaging and consumption.
Cows, pigs, chickens, etc. can also be seen as pets. Guess what? If someone tries to marinate a pet cow by covering it in oil and various spices WHILE IT WAS STILL ALIVE, yeah, people would get as pissy.
And there we have the key factor: THE CAT WAS STILL ALIVE. Now, had the man killed the cat before attempting to marinate it, I doubt it would warrant a news story. but given the fact that the cat was STILL ALIVE AND HAVING TO ENDURE PAIN, that`s what everyone`s riled up about.
Oh, and can no one can bring up the cow/forklift thing until you can point out a better way to move a 1,000 lbs animal in the middle of

"Fine. The guy was going to eat the cat. But why the drat was he marinating the cat still alive? That's what happens when you watch too many Bugs Bunny cartoons"
