I too was a bit in the dark about how it worked, but it doesn't matter where you hit the target and the timer resets after every hit.
At first I failed with scores in the tens-twenties, trying to be as accurate as possible, but then I noticed it went a lot smoother if you just go with the flow and hit them as fast as possible, like in a FPS, and focus on the red hit blib for re-orientation so you don`t slowly wail off. My score suddenly went into the hundreds and was pretty surprised how successful my `instinct` turned out to be.

@zekumi, FPS is an abbreviation of first person shooter. It's the genre of games where you fire a gun from the viewpoint of the character.
Basically, it`s really good practice for precision mouse movements.
